2012 Melbourne Season

Due to our touring program, our 2012 Melbourne Season will now be in the second half of the year.

A most successful tour………

Came back from the tour up north with heads full of lovely impressions and memories.

The best part of touring? Peppa says for her – “It’s that you meet such lovely people.” Everywhere we went we received such rewarding feedback. Many times we heard “We are so lucky to get this level of professional theatre.

Here are a few other examples:

from Genevieve O’Reilly, organiser of the Rutherglen gig –

“By all accounts the show was a success. I have had a number of people provide me with feedback and they all enjoyed it and found the performances thought provoking, humorous and sometimes a little sad. So that’s good, range of emotions!”

from John Head, artistic director of The Shepparton arts festival –

“That was a beautiful piece of theatre.”

At BPACC (Benalla Performing Arts and Conference Centre) we were surprised to hear, apart from the usual appreciative comments about the performance, several versions of – “It is so refreshing and wonderful to have an unmiked performance where you can hear every word.”

A most successful tour. Our audiences were pleased with us and we had the satisfaction of knowing we’ve taken good theatre to Regional Victoria.

The intrepid New Performance Company makes it through the floods.

Flash flooding in Rutherglen (abc.net.au)

Unlike the Essendon Football Club that couldn’t get to Northern Victoria for their football match, the intrepid New Performance Company made it through the floods to perform “This Is What Happened” to a full house in Rutherglen. Not only did they present their wonderful show, they also took part in quite a lenghty Q&A session following the show.
Well done to the actors of The New Performance Company and roadie Russell.
Next week, floods permitting, it’s on to Chiltern on Sat March 10 @ 8pm, Bright on Sun March 11 @ 2pm, the Shepparton Festival of Voices on Monday 12th March @ 2 pm and on to Benalla’s Performing Arts Centre on Thurs 15th March @ 8 pm.

AND THE LIFE I’D LIKE TO HAVE by Gaylene Carbis

May 2012 Production

And The Life I’d Like to Have by Gaylene Carbis will be performed in Melbourne in May.

It is episodes in 3 people’s lives who intersect with each other.

This will be a night of compelling, albeit, amusing drama, incorporating movement based theatre with an emphasis on voice, both sung and spoken .
